Busy day! Still got in a leg workout.
I did the more hamstring-centric leg workout today, though, because I couldn’t deal with the thought of doing a million walking lunges. I’ll do the quad-focused later in the week when the hamstring workout was supposed to happen.
I looked ahead to the Live Fit Phase 3 workouts today, and, damn… No wonder that’s the real fat-burning phase : / I’m trying to figure...

Face-eating victim Ronald Poppo was a high school... →
Long before Ronald Edward Poppo took to wandering the streets of Miami as a homeless drunk and petty criminal, he was a bright teenager attending an elite New York City high school who joked about becoming president.
Records from Stuyvesant High School, class of 1964, list an above-average IQ of 129. A school photo shows Poppo with a thick head of dark hair, dark eyes and a strong chin. His...

Today's Workout: Live Fit Phase 2, Week 4......
Closing in on the last week of Live Fit’s second phase! I thought I was going to have the whole program done before I left to Stockholm, but by screwing up and getting like a week and a half behind, I will have just three weeks of the last phase completed before I leave. Oh well.
Anyways, today was my first day venturing into the free weights section at the gym…. It was fine. I just...

BBQ today!
My plan is to go like a normal person and not stress out about the food/drinks and NOT stick to a rigid plan… Challenging, to be sure.
That said, I’m still gonna be the dork who brings a vegetable tray most likely.
Anyone else up to anything fun?

Training appointment in an hour...
…I caved and bought some sessions because I am an excellent haggler and got them to be *very* affordable.
I’m not gonna go every week though — maybe every other week…. I just need someone to help check my form and let me know where I need to be with weight amounts and stuff. Super pumped…

Love the chocolate peanut/almond butters! Actually, gladly they come in the 1-serving packs. I’ve gotten the tub a few times where portion control goes out the window!
Exactly…. I can totally see myself snapping out of a trance mid-jar and wondering how I got there. Hah. This way I can get a safe fix...

HAH. I don’t know why but every time I see this stupid picture I laugh. Where the hell is it from originally?

Today's Workout: Live Fit Phase 2, Week 3,...
I kinda am doing these workouts this week slightly out of order — today was supposed to be chest, I think. Ehhh I was going to go to the gym, but then it started raining really hard and I psyched myself out — I have totally become one of those women intimidated by the crowded free weights section :( It’s been forever since I belonged to one of these warehouse gym chains and I...

Today's Workout: Live Fit Phase 2, Week 3, Leg...
Okay, I’m still plugging away at Live Fit! I guess I’m not so great at finishing 12-week programs exactly in 12 weeks, but hey, life happens.
I meant to go to the gym but it was basically a monsoon outside AGAIN so I just did this workout at home. No big deal as it was so squat-centric; I just had to do higher reps on some of the moves, and I’m fine with that.
This was a...

Whoops, forgot to update here... Heading into week...
I need a pep talk from someone who made it through these weeks! The workouts here seem to get so repetitive and long omg. I’m looking at the first leg work out which is just a million different versions of squats…. Sigh.

mrs-spaghetti replied to your post: I put my scale away in an obscure closet on a high shelf that requires a ladder to reach.
This is great—I think you should forget about the scale completely and if you need to do anything then just do measurements. I think eating intuitively can be really hard if you’re used to obsessing over numbers but you can do it. ::hugs::
Thank you!! I am (probably)...

:) I recommend trying this out. I feel a lot better, instantly.
I am going through a major sea change in thought here — I had some MAJOR behavioral setbacks that I still think I will address in a separate post, but I don’t wanna dwell on that right now.
So — this blog is going to be more about overall health, quality of life, fitness and yes, food, because I do love to putter...

Via Jezebel: Skechers Will Refund Your Money Since... →
In the obvious news department… You need to click through to the Jezebel post and get a sample of the class-action FAQ.
All your friends laughed at you when you bought magic sneakers you thought would transform you into Kate Upton while you sat around and watched TV, but who’s laughing now that Skechers has agreed to pay out $40 million in refunds to those poor saps like yourself who...

Experimenting with group fitness classes again for...
…since it’s gonna rain every day for like a month here probably and I don’t always want to slog away on the treadmill. Conclusions so far:
—Zumba in real life was actually ridiculously fun… Also, gotta love where I live — the instructor didn’t even bother speaking English so I guess it was extra authentic or something. Also, it is actually kind of...

Update part one!
Alright, so I made myself take a sabbatical from this blog to start to get my head screwed back on straight. I considered deactivating but I think I am going to shift the focus FAR away from *weight* loss per se, far far FAR away from obsessive calorie counting, and possibly make some other changes. More about that tomorrow or later when I have some time.
I don’t want to deactivate, though,...

How NOT to fight Big Food...
…So, somebody I know and like on a personal level works at one of those big food conglomerates based in the Midwest…. The kind that sells “cheese” nachos and stuff to convenience stores.
Someone called in a bomb threat this morning!
Shit’s getting real out there.
But, uh, not the way to handle it, food activists.

From Blogher: 55-Year-Old Grandmother rocks Dallas Cowboys cheerleader auditions
Fifty-five year-old grandmother of two Sharon Simmons has some serious swag. Plus, she’s a prime example that you’re never too old to go after your dreams. Simmons almost tried out for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders 33 years ago but was sidetracked by motherhood and other responsibilities. Rather than...

Live Fit Phase 2, Week 2: Chest/Cardio
I really hate this workout, and by hate it, I mean, find it extremely challenging. Booo.
Ran out of time to do everything so I’ll have to do abs tomorrow after legs. My only real issue with this program is that the workouts get very lengthy after phase one if you do both strength and cardio in one session!
