ad-busting:

This is a book cover, not an advertisement. (Yes, this book really exists. The message it sends is total bullshit so I decided to bust it). Way to perpetuate competition between women based soley on external appearance!

****
HAD TO REBLOG because this book just boils my blood for this very reason — it is CLEARLY aimed at teenagers/college-age women, and promotes insane competition, jealousy, and self-hatred.
I had to open it and read it at the store a bit, and beyond just the title, the content is troubling. The book suggests unhealthy tactics like fasting long into the day (trust me, it is not framed in a more reasonable “intermittent fasting” approach), separating perfectly healthy foods into arbitrary “good” and “bad” groups, and so on. There’s an entire part at the beginning about how you should hide the book from your parents/friends/haters who just don’t understand.
Even worse: Venice A. Fulton is a man promoting this kind of insanity in young women — his real name is Paul Khanna. On top of that, though he’s a personal trainer in the UK, his main profession is acting — his biggest claim to fame is playing a Death Eater in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Only the most cynical, money-hungry of book editors and publishers would put this garbage out, and I hope their business flames out in the most embarrassing, liquidating bankruptcy ever.

Twentysomething female. Florida.

Just trying to stay healthy, fit, and sane in a world that is often none of these.

This blog is about healthy food, fitness, body image, self care, recovery, weightlifting, and all that kind of stuff.

After years of obsessive calorie-counting, bad habits, and worse self-image, I'm choosing to get better... So bear with me as I retool this blog a bit.
