I’m still alive! :) Just been living life instead of blogging. More on that later…

But I had to come back to post this fuckery, which I just caught on TV while watching the last of the Crossfit Games on cable.

So glad I don’t spend money on Crossfit any more —HQ has turned the whole thing into fitspo cheese with borderline porno angles. Yay, complex lifts are just so I can go up a couple points in the hotness scale. So glad to know!

They could have just left the “Strength=beauty” part (AWESOME MESSAGE), used a few different angles to shoot, and left out the part about “sevens.” But then, I guess that wouldn’t jibe with HQ’s attempts at a racy new image to go with that Reebok money.

Logging today’s workout… leg day and a short run

For once, it didn’t rain in the evening, and it was actually a decent enough temperature to run without dying. FINALLY — signs Florida summer is ENDING.

I’m really enjoying circuit workouts instead of straight cardio right now.

I’m really enjoying circuit workouts instead of straight cardio right now.

Logging today’s workout… upper body.

Meh, average-to-fair session today. (Typing that reminds me of the hippie-dippie private elementary school I went to where, for first through third grades, we got graded only as “Outstanding,” “Excellent,” “Positive,” or “Needs Improvement,” and the grades were on things like “sharing with others.”)

My awesome gym decided to close for renovations for a week, apparently (yay), so I’m stuck lifting at home in the garage, i.e. a dark cave that could double as a steam room since SURPRISE, it’s raining again today.

Still no cardio which I’m actually okay with right now since my appetite levels out anyways.

Log after the jump.

I thought a circuit workout sounded good for a change today instead of straight lifting or cardio, so I opened Nike Training Club and tried out the 45-minute “Body Buffer” workout from the “Get Toned” menu.

Am I a buzz-kill for hating happy hour?

Even when I had a job that made me miserable, I HATED happy hour. There is just something incredibly depressing about it to me. I’m 1) not interested in drinking at 5:30 p.m. any more, 2) not really into getting stuck being hungry somewhere with crappy food.

Basically I need to turn down another invitation without seeming like a judge-y asshole.

Goal: Make at least one new friend whose idea of happy hour is like, yoga and tea.

Tumblr text post diarrhea, sorry.

My ankles have been kind of bothering me the past few cardio workouts — too much relentless, high-impact pounding! — so I’ve decided to take a break, mostly, for a week or two until they feel better. Maybe I’ll hit the pool or the rowing machine at the gym, but eh, I don’t really care since I’ll still be lifting and eating clean.

However, I did think to search “chair aerobics” on YouTube just in case — I know, LOL, but I was just curious. This guy OWNS the YouTube chair aerobics space, but all of his clips look like a Tim and Eric sketch. It’s incredible.

Leg day done already….

Figured I’d get this out of the way earlier in the day than usual. The way things are going, I should be at my first strength goal of body weight deadlift/squat by late next month, hopefully.

Note to self: wear flat shoes until the weekend.

Leg day done: Because nothing makes me feel better like a deadlift.

:) Logging for myself after the jump. (Yeah, I seriously use Tumblr as my workout log…. I lose pieces of paper and stuff and it’s easier just to pull up a tag on my blog.)

Twentysomething female. Florida.

Just trying to stay healthy, fit, and sane in a world that is often none of these.

This blog is about healthy food, fitness, body image, self care, recovery, weightlifting, and all that kind of stuff.

After years of obsessive calorie-counting, bad habits, and worse self-image, I'm choosing to get better... So bear with me as I retool this blog a bit.
